While the price of nickel increases continuously, the stainless steel series of low nickel content, low prices and stability bring real attraction. And stainless steel 201 is the right choice, stainless steel is gradually gaining more and more markets, where stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 301 are the main choice.
In the situation of nickel prices increase continuously, the stainless steel series of low nickel content, low prices and stability bring real attraction. And stainless steel 201 is the right choice, stainless steel is gradually gaining more and more markets, where stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 301 are the main choice. Inox 201 is low cost and stable due to the use of Magan to replace the nickel. This is what makes Inox 201 much more similar to Inox 304 and has the same appearance as Inox 304.
As it is known, stainless steel is a steel that contains more than 11% of chromium, which in turn makes stainless steel a self-protecting layer against corrosion. Nickel is also known as a key element for the stability of the austenitic phase and excellent machining performance for stainless steel.
Inox 304 has a minimum nickel content of 8%. Among the elements that make up the austenitic, there are many elements that can replace the nickel to create corrosion resistance. For example: Chromium (this is the main element that makes it resistant to corrosion), manganese (also contributes to stabilize the austenitic phase), nitrogen also contributes to increase hardness, copper (Cu) also contribute Austenitic phase stabilization.
In Inox 201, Magan is used as the primary substitute for nickel in the ratio of 2: 1. We can see according to the chemical composition as follows:
+ 201 stainless steel: 4.5% nickel and 7.1% manganese
+ 304 stainless steel: 8.1% nickel and 1% manganese
This has contributed to the low cost of raw materials in Inox 201. This is the first advantage of 201.
Durability and machinability
Inox 201 is lower in volume but stainless steel durability is 10% higher than stainless steel 304
Due to the same elongation compared to Inox 304, Inox exhibits the same properties as 304 during bending, shaping and glazing. But insofar as the Inox 304 is much thinner and lighter it saves energy than Inox 201 (this is due to the influence of Manganese on Inox 201, making Inox 201 stiffer than Stainless Steel 304)
Corrosion resistance
When comparing the chemical composition (TPHH) of stainless steel 201 and stainless steel 304, we find that the content of stainless steel Chromium 201 is about 2% lower than stainless steel 304. Because of this, stainless steel has lower corrosion resistance than stainless steel 304.
Surface porosity is mainly determined by the two Chromium elements and Lu Huy Huynh (S). Chromium helps increase resistance to corrosion, while Luu Huynh reduces the ability to resist corrosion. In TPHH, 2 stainless steel has the same composition as Huy Huynh. Therefore, the surface resistance of Inox 201 is lower than that of Inox 304.
304: Inox 304
4Ni: Stainless steel 201 (stainless steel only contains about 4% nickel)
The results are as shown above after the salt spray experiment for 575 hours. Because of this, stainless steel 201 is not suitable for marine.
Application of stainless steel 201
+ Kitchen equipment such as pans, pot => Coordination
+ Washing machines, dishwashers => Not suitable, due to the existence of the possibility of corrosive crevices)
Food Processing Equipment => Not for use with PH <3.
+ Chemical, petroleum, nuclear power => Unable to
+ Interior decoration => suitable
+ In the external environment => Not suitable, if used, it must be maintained regularly.
